August 2026 flooding - Avoca and Loddon rivers

Council is working with various agencies to monitor rising water levels along the Avoca and Loddon rivers following significant rainfall upstream of the Gannawarra.

Road closures

The following Council-managed roads are currently closed:

  • Connelly Road, Dingwall between Dip and Hawthorne roads.
  • Delamare Road, Appin between Murphy's Lake and Sutherland roads.
  • Forest Lane, Appin between Murphy's Lake and Sutherland roads.
  • Hewitt Road, Appin between Murphy's Lake Road and the Loddon River.
  • Holmes Bridge Road, Quambatook between Ninyeunook road and the southern boundary of Gannawarra Shire.
  • Knight Road, Quambatook between Ninyeunook and Cemetery roads.
  • Marshall Road, Dingwall between Connelly and Normanville roads.
  • Meering West Road, Quambatook between Dear and Nolan roads.
  • Ninyeunook Road, Quambatook between Holmes Bridge Road and the southern boundary of Gannawarra Shire.
  • Quambatook South Road, Quambatook between Coughlan and Ninyeunook roads.
  • Weir Road, Quambatook either side of the Avoca River.
  • Wren Road, Appin between Steadman Lane and the Loddon River.

Motorists are advised not to drive through floodwaters.
