Help The Glasshouse win a National Award for Local Government

Residents are encouraged to help The Glasshouse win one of three accolades as part of the National Awards for Local Government.
Voting for the publicly decided awards opened yesterday and close at 11.55pm Monday, 4 May.
“It is an honour for Council to again be recognised in the National Awards for Local Government, with initiatives such as our creative arts program, ReSpark the Park initiative and renewable energy development advocacy either winning categories, receiving high commendations or shortlisted as finalists in previous years,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.
The Glasshouse is in the running for the Productivity Through Infrastructure and Regional Growth titles, with Council also a finalist in the Outstanding Rural and Remote Council category, which recognises the work of municipalities that have a population of less than 15,000 people.
“The Glasshouse has been embraced by the community since it was opened last December, with the building hosting major events, workshops and meetings large and small,” Mr Rollinson said.
“It would be amazing for this project to receive national recognition, with The Glasshouse a unique facility for a small rural municipality such as Gannawarra Shire.
“Participating in the awards program also promotes Council’s work nationally amongst the 537 local councils across Australia, which in turn puts the Gannawarra on the national map.”
Voting can be completed online by visiting https://nalg.awardsplatform.com/ before Monday, 4 May, registering an account and selecting which project should win an award in each of the 13 categories.
“With award winners to be announced in June, there is limited time to help the Gannawarra receive national recognition for our efforts,” Mr Rollinson said.
