Leonie Kelsall author talk to open Victorian Seniors Festival

Best-selling Australian fiction author, Léonie Kelsall is coming to the Gannawarra next month as part of the 2026 Victorian Seniors Festival.

The author of 10 novels, as well as other books written under her pen name Laney Kaye, will feature during a special event occurring at Kerang's Sir John Gorton Library on Thursday, 1 October from 10.30am.

Presented as part of Gannawarra Shire Council's Victorian Seniors Festival celebrations, the free event will provide attendees with an opportunity to hear directly from the acclaimed author about a successful writing career, the inspiration behind her popular novels, and the characters and communities that bring the stories to life.

"The Victorian Seniors Festival is all about creating opportunities for older residents to connect, learn and enjoy new experiences, and we are delighted to welcome Léonie Kelsall to Kerang as part of our local celebrations," Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.

"Léonie's stories resonate strongly with regional communities, and this event offers a wonderful opportunity for readers and book lovers to hear firsthand about the creative process behind Leonie’s successful novels while enjoying a relaxed and engaging morning at the library."
