Gannawarra Shire Council has reappointed Geoff Rollinson as its Chief Executive Officer, extending his contract for a further two years.
First appointed to the role in December 2022, Mr Rollinson has a 30-plus year association with local government in the Gannawarra, including working with the Gannawarra Shire Council since the amalgamation of the Borough and Shire of Kerang with the Shire of Cohuna in 1995. This has included holding Works Engineer, Manager of Operational Services and Director of Infrastructure and Development roles with Council.
"Council unanimously supported extending Mr Rollinson's contract for a further two years. As a member of the community, Geoff understands the priorities and challenges important to Gannawarra," Mayor Garner Smith said.
“Geoff has provided strong leadership, recently demonstrated during the 2022 floods and Christmas Day 2023-January 2024 storms. He has excellent relationships with governmental departments and works well with Councillors to ensure that our residents’ concerns are being heard at a State and Federal level.
Geoff has promoted a culture at council that is community focussed, cooperative and continually seeking improvement. My fellow Councillors and I look forward to maintaining and expanding on this direction with Geoff.”
Mr Rollinson’s background in local government infrastructure and operational management has been pivotal to the community over the past 30 years, with his connections to the Gannawarra another strength.
“I thank the Gannawarra Shire Councillors for reappointing me to this role,” Mr Rollinson said.
“I look forward to working with the Councillors and the community in continuing to make the Gannawarra a great place to live and work.”
