Resident were encouraged during February 2025 and March 2025 to have their say on Council's Draft Asset Naming policy, which outlines the process Council uses to select, approve or assign names for roads, features and localities within the municipality.

The revised version of the Asset Naming policy ensures Council staff use relevant State Government guidelines when assessing requests to name new assets, including engaging with the community, ensuring naming practices are inclusive, culturally respectful and reflect the municipality’s values and history.

How residents had their say

Residents were able to have their say on the draft Asset Naming policy during February 2025 and March 2025 in one of the following ways:

  • By completing the Have Your Say form, which was available online or from Council’s Customer Service Centres at Cohuna and Kerang.
  • By writing to Council, either by mail or email.
