Wired into the Warra

Are you a young person interested in web design, graphic design, project management or marketing? Looking to gain some experience and earn some money at the same time? Then listen up!

Gannawarra Shire Council has an opportunity for local young people to undertake an internship that will run throughout January 2017.

Mayor Cr Brian Gibson says the aim of the project is to build a virtual space for young people.

“The website, once up and running, will be a virtual space for young people in the area that will have access to information about job opportunities, access to local and online support, events, community engagement and homework support,” he explained.

Director Community Wellbeing Mandy Hutchinson explains that to be eligible for one of the available internships, you must attend a short briefing session.

“The internships will provide young people with an opportunity to build their skills and knowledge in a range of areas such as project planning, webpage development and design, coding, community engagement and marketing,” Ms Hutchinson says.
