Time is running out for community groups to apply for funding for projects, programs, events and activities thanks to the Gannawarra Shire Council Small Grants Program.

Applications for this popular program, formerly known as the Gannawarra Community Grants Program, close midnight Monday 1 June.

As part of the program, community groups can apply for up to $5,000 for initiatives that align with the program’s guidelines and if their project, program, event or activity is able to be delivered by 31 July 2027.

“For many years, residents have benefited from grants programs managed by Gannawarra Shire Council, with funding used to enable major events, community programs, facility improvements and projects to occur,” Mayor Garner Smith said.

“With less than two weeks remaining to submit your application, now is the time to make sure your proposal is ready. This includes ensuring you have all information available that will assist with your application.”

Applications must be submitted via Council’s SmartyGrants page at www.gsc.vic.gov.au/grants. Program guidelines are available on this page and can also be obtained from Council’s Customer Service Centres in Cohuna and Kerang. Applicants are encouraged to review the guidelines before applying.

Council’s grants website, www.gsc.vic.gov.au/grants also features advice on how to craft an application, obtain supporting information such as letters of support and quotes, guidance on completing a budget and advice on what assessors may look for when it comes to a successful application.
