Stormwater improvements for Tate Drive and Franke Road, Kerang

Properties located along Franke Road, Kerang and the Tate Drive Industrial Estate will benefit from the installation of new stormwater infrastructure.
Work will begin next week to install new stormwater pipes along the southern section of Franke Road and a vacant reserve opposite KerFab within the Tate Drive Industrial Estate, with the project scheduled to be completed by mid-March.
“Council is committed to working with our residents and businesses to improve our urban stormwater networks,” Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.
“Residents and businessowners located along Franke Road and the northern end of Tate Drive are susceptible to flash flooding following significant, intensive rainfall and storm events, which reduces access to these roads and impacts on residents and businesses in this area.
“These works will reduce these risks for medium sized rain events as part of a staged plan to improve drainage in the precinct.”
No road closures are proposed as part of these works, with reduced speed limits and traffic management controls in place to ensure the safety of those completing the project.
“Council thanks residents and motorists for their understanding as these works are completed and looks forward to the completion of this important project,” Mr Rollinson said.
