Stewart Street, Cohuna to close in February due to hospital works

Residents and visitors are advised that Stewart Street, Cohuna will close next month through to the end of July as part of the Cohuna District Hospital redevelopment.
The street, which enables motorists to travel between the Murray Valley Highway and Augustine Street, will be closed from Monday, 16 February to Friday, 31 July.
“Stewart Street is an important street for residents living around Cohuna District Hospital, as well as people wanting to visit Cohuna Village,” Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.
“Fairbrother, which is overseeing the refurbishment of Cohuna District Hospital, has request this road closure to enable upgrades to the hospital that will ensure this facility continues to meet residents’ needs for many years to come.”
Traffic management and detours will be in place during the closure, with motorists able to access Augustine Street via O’Briens Road.
“Council thanks residents and visitors for their understanding and we look forward to when the redevelopment of the Cohuna District Hospital is complete,” Mr Rollinson said.
