Splash Park Opening
Published on 07 November 2016
The community is invited to a fun, family afternoon at the Kerang Swimming Pool to celebrate the completion and official opening of the Splash Park on Monday 14 November.
Council’s Chief Executive Officer Eric Braslis said the project will enhance peoples experience at the pool and attract visitors from outside the Shire to the area.
"We know in the past we have had visitors from as far away as Swan Hill, Echuca and Shepparton to use the waterslide, so the completion of the Splash Park is another exciting element to the pool precinct to entice visitors to our wonderful area."
"In addition, local families will now have access to wonderful facilities at their local swimming pool," he said.
The Splash Park is a part of a $677,000 project to improve the Sir John Gorton Aquatic Precinct, including a new family and universal access changing facility, new solar heating for the pool and external painting to the changing room and kiosk.
On the day of the opening, entry to the pool will be free from 3pm, there will be a free sausage sizzle, water slide, fun games and activities.
With lots of fun activities Gannawarra Shire Council invites everyone to come along, have a splash and join in the family fun.
