Gannawarra Shire Council’s popular Social Meals program will return from June, with events to be held in nine towns and districts.

Supported by Council’s Community Care team, the popular program was a social fixture for the Gannawarra’s senior residents before the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Council is pleased to resume its Social Meals program, which many residents have been looking forward to since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Acting Council Chief Executive Officer, Stacy Williams said.

“Held once a month at Cohuna, Kerang, Koondrook, Lalbert, Lake Charm, Leitchville, Macorna, Murrabit and Quambatook, the program enables attendees to enjoy a home-cooked, two-course meal in a social setting.”

The program will resume on Wednesday, 1 June at Murrabit, with the program for the first half of the year available online at www.gsc.vic.gov.au/events and in the July/August 2022 edition of Gannawarra Connect, which is to be distributed to all households within the Gannawarra in early July.
