Skate Park league regional final to be held in Kerang!
Published on 10 November 2016
The YMCA Skate Park Leagues will return to Gannawarra this month, with Kerang Skate Park chosen to host the regional final on 27 November.
The competition, sponsored by Gannawarra Shire Council and Northern District Community Health Service and organised in partnership with the YMCA and Victorian Skateboarding Association will include categories for scooters, BMX and skate.
Gannawarra Shire Council Youth Development Office Penny Scanlan said the competition was part of the YMCA’s National Skate Park League.
"This event is a great opportunity to showcase the fantastic facilities for skaters in the Kerang Skate Park, as well as to celebrate the talents of young people.
"I encourage anyone interested in competing to get to the skate park early as there are 20 places in each round which cover skateboard, scooter and BMX, as well as different age groups."
The YMCA Skate Park League will also provide a development pathway for amateur skate and BMX riders.
"This event gives riders a great opportunity to test their skills, whilst the competition will activate the skate park and showcase one of our great assets to the local community," said Ms Scanlan.
