Gannawarra Shire Council is still seeking applications from residents wanting to join its Roads Focus Group, with the deadline to apply extended to Friday, 20 June.

The group, which will include residents and Council staff, will provide community perspectives and feedback on road infrastructure, maintenance and safety matters.

“Thank you to all residents who have taken the time to already apply to join this important group,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.

“Our Roads Focus Group members will be able to communicate community road management-related priorities and assist Council and the Department of Transport and Planning in understanding local issues and aligning road management strategies with community expectations.”

Group members will be required to attend meetings, which will be held every 3-6 months, provide constructive input, engage positively with other group members and maintain confidentiality as appropriate.

“Residents, landowners, business operators and those with a genuine interest in contributing to road improvement discussions would be ideal for this group, with members encouraged to represent broader community interests rather than individual concerns,” Mr Rollinson said.

Residents interested in applying to join the Roads Focus Group can submit an expression of interest by emailing council@gsc.vic.gov.au or writing to PO Box 287, Kerang VIC 3579 before 5pm Friday, 20 June. Applications should include your name and contact details, and a brief overview of your interest or experience relating to road infrastructure or community engagement.
