Rates Notices 2018-19
Media Release
Residents of Gannawarra Shire will have begun receiving their 2018/19 rates notices.
Council’s Acting Director of Corporate Services Lisa Clue explains that the increase in rate revenue for the 2018/19 financial year is 2.25%, in line with the State Government rate capping.
“This increase allows Council to maintain existing service levels, increase grant subsidised projects aimed at promoting liveability and sustainability within the municipality and contributes towards the renewal of Council’s infrastructure,” Ms Clue said.
“Ratepayers will receive an information brochure with their rates notice outlining how rates are calculated along with key payment dates for ready reference.”
Further information on the rate capping and its impact on your rates bill can be found on Council’s website
www.gsc.vic.gov.au
.
Ms Clue advised that Council provides a range of payment options including online via BPay or Post billpay, telephone and internet banking, in store at Australia Post and by mail.
“Ratepayers are welcome to come into the Kerang or Cohuna office to make payment, but perhaps the easiest way is via BPay. Details of all payment options are conveniently provided on your rate notice,” explained Ms Clue.
Ratepayers can pay by instalments over the financial year or they may elect to pay in full by February 15, 2019.
“Residents are reminded that if they choose to pay by instalments, the first instalment payment must be made by September 30, 2018,” Ms Clue added.
If residents have any queries they should contact Council on 5450 9333.
