Work to rejuvenate a 1.2-kilometre section of Pipers Road, Leitchville will begin on Monday, 28 April.

Occurring as part of Council’s annual capital works program, improvements will occur along a section of the road between the Murray Valley Highway and south of Keely Station Road.

“Pipers Road is an important Council-managed Road for Leitchville and Wee Wee Rup residents, as well as for motorists travelling between Leitchville and Cohuna,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson.

“The improvements will improve the current road condition, which will also benefit the many heavy vehicles that use this road to access properties north of Leitchville and south of Wee Wee Rup.”

The works are anticipated to be completed by mid-June, with the road to be closed to general motorists during this period.

“Local traffic, including residents and farming contractors, will still be able to access properties directly affected by the closure, with our dedicated staff to work closely with affected residents and stakeholders to minimise disruptions,” Mr Rollinson said.

Motorists are encouraged to use nearby sealed roads, including Cohuna-Leitchville Road and the Murray Valley Highway, or the unsealed Randalls Road, whilst these works are occurring.

“Council thanks motorists and residents for their understanding whilst these improvements are occurring, and look forward to the completion of these works,” Mr Rollinson said.
