Make a lasting impact in early childhood education

Gannawarra Shire Council is inviting diploma-qualified early childhood educators to join its dedicated Children’s Services team and help shape the lives of local children while building a rewarding career close to home.

Council is actively recruiting qualified staff to support local early childhood education services and ensure families can continue accessing high-quality education and care within their own communities.

"Early childhood educators help children develop the skills, confidence and curiosity they need to thrive, making a lasting impact during their formative years," Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.

"Our educators are part of supportive, community-focused environments where they can see firsthand the positive difference they make in the lives of local families.

"Choosing to work close to home means spending less time commuting and more time doing the things that matter, whether that's spending time with family and friends or being actively involved in community life.”

The Children’s Services team oversees Council’s long day care program at Kerang’s Gannawarra Shire Children’s Centre, as well as three-year-old kindergarten and Pre-Prep programs at Cohuna, Kerang, Koondrook and Leitchville.

You become part of children’s and families’ lives, you get to watch children grow and develop, and you’re surrounded by a team of people who genuinely care about the work they do and about supporting each other,” Council’s Manager Children’s Services, Brooke Arnold said.

Council continues to face workforce challenges that are affecting early childhood education providers across regional Victoria and is actively seeking qualified educators to help strengthen local services.

"Like many communities, we are experiencing challenges in recruiting qualified early childhood educators, which is impacting our service delivery, but we remain focused on attracting talented professionals who are passionate about supporting children and families," Mr Rollinson said.
