Gannawarra Library Service members will be able to borrow items from its collection from Tuesday, 2 June thanks to the introduction of a “click and collect” service.

The service, to be offered at the Cohuna, Kerang, Leitchville and Quambatook branches, will enable residents to access the library service’s collection of books, magazines, audio books and DVDs.

“The Gannawarra Library Service is continuing to implement measures that will protect customers and staff when our facilities reopen, but Council understands that being able to access our library resources can provide enjoyment and entertainment to residents in these difficult times,” Council’s Director of Community Wellbeing, Stacy Williams said.

To access this service, residents can phone either Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library or the Cohuna, Leitchville and Quambatook branches to request to borrow a selection of items, or place a hold via the library service’s online catalogue. Online holds will be limited to Gannawarra Library Service items only.

Items will be placed ready for collection at a location which enables adequate social distancing.

“To help us to manage this new system, and to ensure items are collected in a timely fashion, library patrons must ring and allocate a time frame in which their holds or selections will be collected” Mrs Williams said.

“Those who are not feeling well are encouraged not to collect any borrowed items themselves.”

Residents wanting to access this service, or those who have further queries, can phone the Cohuna branch on (03) 5456 2124 between 9.30am and 5pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, or Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on (03) 5452 1546 between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.
