Two renowned Australian romance authors will visit the Gannawarra next month as part of Victorian Seniors Festival celebrations.

The Gannawarra Library Service will host two free Author Talks sessions during October, featuring Laurelle Cousins (left) and J Mary Masters.

“The Gannawarra Library Service’s popular Author Talks program is renowned for bringing Australian authors to the area to meet fans and for library service members to learn about what influences these authors and their stories,” Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.

Rural fiction/romance writer, Laurelle Cousins will feature at the first of the Author Talks sessions, occurring at the Cohuna Library on Wednesday, 8 October from 10.30am.

“Laurelle’s life on the land has influenced her writing, including her newest books, The Lonely Paddock and Sheep Gully Road,” Mr Rollinson said.

“The rural setting of Laurelle’s books will resonate with those who attend this session, with those who attend able to learn more about her life on her farm.”

Family saga/romance writer, J Mary Masters will also visit the Gannawarra next month, thanks to a session occurring at Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on Tuesday, 21 October from 10.30am.

“A former magazine senior executive, J Mary Masters is renowned for her Belleville family and Philippe Duval series of books,” Mr Rollinson said.

“This visit will occur weeks before the release of the fifth book in the Belleville family series, which will be a treat for those attending this session.”
