Gannawarra Library Service members are encouraged to track the number of days they read during winter to be in the running to win some great prizes.

The library service is supporting Public Libraries Victoria’s Warm Winter Read initiative for a fourth consecutive year, which begins today and runs through to Sunday, 31 August.

“The Warm Winter Read program encourages people aged 16 years and older across Victoria to strengthen their reading habits,” Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.

“It doesn’t matter if it’s listening to an audiobook, flipping through a graphic novel, browsing a magazine or curling up with a paperback, all reading will count as part of this popular program.”

There are various prizes available by participating in the statewide competition, including book bundles, book hampers, Sony headphones and a Kobo eReader. To register, visit http://readbooks.com.au/wwr

Gannawarra Library Service members can also be in the running to win one of two special prizes by submitting a book review, which can be done by using a form available from the service’s branches at Cohuna, Kerang, Leitchville and Quambatook.

“Our friendly Gannawarra Library Service staff can assist anyone wanting to enter either competition, as well as recommending your next great read,” Mr Rollinson said.
