Join Council's Roads Focus Group
Published on 14 May 2025
Gannawarra Shire residents are encouraged to apply to be part of a group that will provide Gannawarra Shire Council with ongoing feedback regarding local road-related matters.
Council is looking to establish a Roads Focus Group, which will provide community perspectives and feedback on road infrastructure, maintenance and safety matters.
“Our residents are the best people to ask about Council-managed roads, as they use these roads daily to travel between work, school and community events and their homes,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.
“Our Roads Focus Group members will be able to communicate community road management-related priorities and assist Council and the Department of Transport and Planning in understanding local issues and aligning road management strategies with community expectations.”
Group members will be required to attend meetings, which will be held every 3-6 months, provide constructive input, engage positively with other group members and maintain confidentiality as appropriate.
“Residents who are passionate about community engagement or have experience in road management matters would be ideal for this group, with members encouraged to represent broader community interests rather than individual concerns,” Mr Rollinson said.
Residents interested in applying to join the Roads Focus Group can submit an expression of interest by emailing council@gsc.vic.gov.au or writing to PO Box 287, Kerang VIC 3579 before 4pm Friday, 30 May. Applications should include your name and contact details, and a brief overview of your interest or experience relating to road infrastructure or community engagement.
