How do you engage with Council?
Published on 19 May 2025
Gannawarra Shire Council is asking residents how they engage with Council as part of efforts to review and update two key documents.
As part of work to review its Community Engagement policy and develop the next version of its Community Engagement Strategy, residents are encouraged to complete a short survey relating to how they engage with Council.
“Our Community Engagement policy and strategy are two important documents, as they outline how Council communicates, consults and engages with our residents,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.
“Effective engagement allows Council to collect information and feedback which can assist in decision making. It also means the community is involved in Council’s decisions and processes, offering residents an opportunity to shape and influence projects, services and future direction.”
Residents can complete the How Can Council Work With You? survey between now and 5pm Sunday, 15 June in the following ways:
- Online by clicking on the “How Can Council Work With You?” heading at www.gsc.vic.gov.au/yoursay
- By collecting a hard copy of the survey from Council’s Customer Service Centres at Cohuna and Kerang.
- By phoning Council on (03) 5450 9333 during business hours.
“All feedback received will assist with the revision of the Community Engagement policy, which will be presented to Council for adoption later this year, and the development of the draft version of the Community Engagement Strategy 2026-2030, which Council will further seek your views regarding,” Mr Rollinson said.
