Residents have two weeks left to have their say on the draft versions of the Gannawarra Shire 2025-2029 Council Plan and Gannawarra Community Vision 2040, with feedback accepted up to 5pm Friday, 15 August.

Developed following three months of meetings held between December 2024 and February 2025, both documents will guide the outcomes Council will aim to achieve during the next four years.

“Thank you to all residents who have taken the time during the past two weeks to look at the draft versions of our next Council Plan and Community Vision and had their say on these documents,” Mayor Garner Smith said.

“My fellow Councillors, Council staff and I heard from more than 700 residents of all ages about their community’s strengths and challenges, with this information pivotal to the development of our next Council Plan and Community Vision.”

The draft version of the Gannawarra Shire 2025-2029 Council Plan retains the Growing Gannawarra – 2021-2025 Council Plan’s three strategic goals – liveability; growth; and sustainability – with four strategies linked to each goal that will help Council meet these goals. The document also incorporates Council’s Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan.

Feedback is also being sought regarding the draft version of the Gannawarra Community Vision 2040, which outlines the community’s priorities for Gannawarra over the next 15 years.

“It is important that Council hears from residents about the draft versions of these documents, as the goals and priorities will influence the work Council will undertake during the next four years,” Mayor Smith said.
