Residents are encouraged to take part in a survey that will assess the social impacts of Coronavirus on Australian communities.

The University of Queensland-led study aims to understand some of the social impacts of Coronavirus on individuals and families in order to help direct resources and policies to where they are needed the most.

Particular focus will be given to the impacts of the Coronavirus pandemic on families, including work and care situations, and how these situations have evolved and changed since the outbreak of the virus.

“Coronavirus has impacted all residents within the Gannawarra,” Mayor Lorraine Learmonth said.

“This survey will help develop a greater understanding about how people are managing with the current pandemic across Australia. This can help direct resources to where they are needed most, potentially having far-reaching and positive implications for communities.”

Adults aged 18 years and older are eligible to take part in the survey, which takes between 20 and 30 minutes to complete.

“Those who complete the survey may also indicate whether they would like to be contacted in up to six weeks’ time by University of Queensland researchers to provide an update whether their circumstances may have changed,” Mayor Learmonth said.
