Enjoy Story Time at Kerang's Sir John Gorton Library

Children aged 0-6 years and their families are benefiting from a free Gannawarra Library Service program that helps establish a love of books and reading from an early age.
Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library continues to host the service’s popular Story Time program, held every Wednesday from 10.30am.
“For many years the Gannawarra Library Service’s Story Time program has fostered a love of literacy in the Gannawarra’s children,” Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.
“The program is now attracting children of parents who attended our original sessions, which highlights the longevity of this program.”
Running for 30-45 minutes, each session includes the reading of a story and, depending on the week’s theme, songs and a craft activity.
The Story Time program and other initiatives run by the library are overseen by the service’s new Library Programs Officer, Nikki Tatasciore.
“Nikki recently joined the Gannawarra Library Service and is excited to bring the wealth of knowledge she received whilst working at Geelong Regional Libraries to the Gannawarra,” Mr Rollinson said.
“We welcome Nikki to the team and look forward to seeing the growth of our popular programs, such as our school holiday activities, and the implementation of new additions to the library service.”
