Council's outdoor pools ready for bumper summer

If you’re looking to keep cool during summer, spend time with family or kickstart your summer fitness goals, there is a pool for you in the Gannawarra.
The Gannawarra Shire Council-managed Cohuna and Kerang outdoor swimming pools will officially open for the 2021/22 season on Monday, 15 November at 3pm.
“Final preparations to both facilities are being completed for what is anticipated to be a busy summer period, with plenty of activities on offer, ranging from giant inflatable sessions and fun days through to water aerobics and early morning lap swimming,” Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Tom O’Reilly said.
“A dedicated team of lifeguards are also preparing for the coming season and are looking forward to helping make your visit to our outdoor pools an enjoyable one.”
Residents will be able to purchase season passes from the Cohuna and Kerang Customer Service Centres from Monday, 8 November or from either pool during the season.
“Residents will be able to head down to the pools to meet members of the lifeguard team, and purchase a season ticket on Sunday, 14 November from 11am to 1pm,” Mr O’Reilly said.
The Cohuna and Kerang swimming pools will be open from 3pm to 7pm during November, with the traditional summer opening hours of 10am to 8pm coming into effect from Wednesday, 1 December and be in place until Monday, 28 February 2022.
Operating hours will revert back to 3pm to 7pm Tuesday, 1 March 2022, with the season to end at 7pm on Sunday, 13 March 2022.
“Residents are advised that the Cohuna and Kerang swimming pools will be closed on days the Bureau of Meteorology website’s forecast temperature for either Cohuna or Kerang is 23 degrees Celsius or lower,” Mr O’Reilly said.
“Any changes to opening times, including during instances of inclement weather, will publicised via Council’s Facebook page”.
