Gannawarra Shire Council has adopted five documents that will guide Council when making key decisions regarding the construction, upgrade, renewal, maintenance and disposal of assets.
Adopted at its October 2025 Council meeting, the Gannawarra Shire Council Asset Plan 2025-2035 and its related sub-plans for buildings, open space, stormwater and transport assets outline Council’s long-term infrastructure planning, ensuring this aligns with community expectations.
“Council thanks all residents who took the time to look at our updated Asset Plan and its four related sub-plans,” Mayor Garner Smith said.
“Whether it is our local road network, footpaths, buildings or recreational facilities, our residents use Council assets daily, and it is important that these are maintained to a satisfactory standard for our residents and visitors.”
The Gannawarra Shire Council Asset Plan 2025-2035 outlines projected expenditure for asset management during the next 10 years, as well as future projects Council plans to undertake during this period.
The Gannawarra Shire Council Asset Plan 2025-2035 also influences four sub-plans relating to the following Council infrastructure:
- Transport, which includes Council’s sealed and unsealed road network, bridges, footpaths and car parking spaces.
- Buildings, which includes the 153 buildings Council owns.
- Open space, which includes recreational facilities and equipment, playgrounds, outdoor swimming pools, and jetties.
- Stormwater, including Council’s urban stormwater drainage network.
“The Gannawarra Shire Council Asset Plan 2025-2035 and its related sub-plans align with various Council documents, including the Gannawarra Shire 2025-2029 Council Plan, Gannawarra Community Vision 2040, our updated Financial Plan and Road Management Plan,” Mayor Smith said.
