Residents will be able to discuss their concerns with Gannawarra Shire Council leaders thanks to a new community engagement campaign that begins later this month.

The Connect With Council program will see Councillors and senior staff gather in all communities across the Gannawarra throughout the year, with the first session occurring in Victoria Square, Kerang on Tuesday, 21 April from 10.30am-12 noon.

“Our residents have indicated via various surveys, including the annual Community Satisfaction Survey and the How Can Council Work With You? survey, that they want greater opportunities to interact with Councillors and senior staff,” Mayor Garner Smith said.

“The Connect With Council program provides residents with an opportunity to do this, with my fellow Councillors, senior staff and I looking forward to gathering in communities large and small across the Gannawarra this year.”

Sessions will also be held during May and June at Macorna and Murrabit, with details regarding dates, times and locations to be announced soon.

Work is also occurring to confirm times and locations for sessions occurring between July and December at Cohuna, Koondrook, Lake Charm, Lalbert, Leitchville and Quambatook, with details to be promoted on Council’s website Facebook page and editions of Gannawarra News and Gannawarra Connect.
