Residents and visitors will be able to continue to enjoy the Cohuna and Kerang swimming pools this February, with altered opening hours in place from Thursday, 29 January due to school bookings.
As part of Gannawarra Shire Council’s efforts to maximise service availability and staffing, revised opening hours have been in place for the 2025/26 season.
“It has been fantastic to see so many residents and visitors choosing to keep cool at the Cohuna and Kerang swimming pools so far this season,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.
“Whether it is the numerous swimming programs on offer, events or private gatherings, our pools cater for people of all ages.”
As part of the revised arrangements, the Cohuna and Kerang swimming pools will be open 3pm-7pm weekdays and 11am-7pm weekends through to Saturday, 28 February. Waterslides at both facilities will operate on a Wednesday and Friday weekly from 4pm-6pm, as well as Saturday and Sunday from 1pm-4pm.
Swimming pool hours at Kerang and Cohuna will revert to the traditional March hours of 3pm-7pm daily from 1-8 March.
The 2025/26 season will end on Labour Day, 9 March with both pools open from 12 noon-7pm.
“Residents are advised that the Cohuna and Kerang swimming pools will be closed on days the Bureau of Meteorology website’s forecast temperature for either Cohuna or Kerang is 23 degrees Celsius or lower,” Mr Rollinson said.
“Any changes to opening times, including during instances of inclement weather, will be publicised via Council’s Facebook page.”
