Applications for the Gannawarra Shire Council Small Grants Program, formerly known as the Gannawarra Community Grants Program, will open at 9am Friday, 1 May and will be accepted up to midnight Monday, 1 June.

As part of the program, eligible community groups will be able to apply for up to $5,000 to support projects, programs, events and activities.

“Now is the time to start planning for your application for the Gannawarra Shire Council Small Grants Program,” Mayor Garner Smith said.

“Successful projects must meet the three Essential Criteria which are detailed in the program guidelines, including that their project, program, event or activity is able to be delivered by 31 July 2027.”

Groups considering applying for funding are encouraged to read the program’s guidelines, which are available online at www.gsc.vic.gov.au/grants and from Council’s Customer Service Centres at Cohuna and Kerang.

Council’s grants website, www.gsc.vic.gov.au/grants, also features advice on how to craft an application, obtain supporting information such as letters of support and quotes, guidance on completing a budget and advice on what assessors may look for when it comes to a successful application.

“Potential applicants are encouraged to start planning their projects prior to the program opening date to ensure that they have the best opportunity to benefit from the Gannawarra Small Grants Program,” Mayor Smith said.
