Interviews for the 2026 Community Satisfaction Survey, which enables residents to provide feedback on Gannawarra Shire Council’s performance, will begin on Monday, 2 June.
Conducted by independent market research agency National Field Service, the survey helps participating councils to identify areas where it can improve its performance.
“Since it was first conducted more than a decade ago, the Community Satisfaction Survey has helped Council keep connected with residents’ needs and identify areas where we can do better,” Mayor Garner Smith said.
“Last year saw Council change its interviewing structure from 400 interviews conducted during February-March to a format that saw interviews spread throughout the year. Results from these surveys will be received soon and presented to a future Council meeting.”
As part of the first round of interviews, 100 people aged 18 years and over will be contacted randomly during the next 4-6 weeks to participate in the survey.
Residents who choose to take part in the survey will be asked to assess Council’s overall performance, how it engages with the community, how it communicates with residents, and its decision-making performance.
The survey also features questions specifically relating to community services, customer service, libraries recreation facilities, roads and waste management.
“Council appreciates the time taken by those residents who participate in the survey, and value the feedback provided,” Mayor Smith said.
