It’s spring and it’s time to get outdoors and experience the Gannawarra's nature based tourism activities.

Economic Development Manager Roger Griffiths says the environmental watering in Gunbower Forest is the perfect time to explore the spectacular wetlands of the forest.

"Murray River Adventures are hosting guided kayak tours of the wetlands from October 4 to 10," said Mr. Griffiths.

"This is a great opportunity to experience the flooded ecosystem of the Gunbower forest and a very full Cohuna Lagoon."

Tour 1 will offer a fully guided eco tour through the Gunbower Forest with special permission to access restricted areas to explore deep into the forest.

On Tour 2 paddlers can join a relaxing tour at Cohuna's town edge through Cohuna Lagoon.

"Camping, fishing, bush walking, bike riding and bird watching are other popular activities throughout the Gannawarra region during spring," said Mr. Griffiths.

"Make a day out of it and take time for a delicious lunch or dinner, or some retail therapy in Kerang Cohuna Koondrook."
