Flying Doctor Dental Clinic extends stay

The Royal Flying Doctor Dental Clinic, which has been based within the Gannawarra Shire since late February, will extend its visit to the area for a further three weeks.

Initially scheduled to finish its three-month stay on Friday, 31 May, the service will remain within the Gannawarra until Wednesday, 19 June.

“Since its first appointment at Kerang on 25 February, the Royal Flying Doctor Dental Clinic has provided dental care for eligible residents in Cohuna, Kerang and Koondrook and surrounding districts,” Deputy Mayor, Cr Charlie Gillingham said.

“Council welcomes the Royal Flying Doctor Service’s decision to extend its visit to the Gannawarra as part of its efforts to improve the oral health of residents across the Shire’s communities.”

The Royal Flying Doctor Dental Clinic will be located at RSL Drive, Kerang up to Friday, 7 June before returning to Apex Park, Koondrook from Tuesday, 11 June to Wednesday, 19 June.

Those eligible to receive treatment are all children 17 years and under, adults aged 18 years and over who have a Health Care or Pensioner Concession card, all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and all refugees and asylum seekers.
