Cohuna to host
Arts Salon

Media Release

Gannawarra Shire Council and Regional Arts Victoria will host an Arts Salon next week in Cohuna.

Arts Salons are regularly hosted across the shire, as an informal and fun evening to discuss creative happenings within Gannawarra Shire.

The upcoming Arts Salon event sparks the beginning of community consultations about the next shire-wide arts and culture strategy. It will be a focused discussion about our creative direction, with light refreshments supplied.

Cr. Lorraine Learmonth, who holds the Arts and Culture Portfolio for the Gannawarra Shire Council, said that the Arts Salon provides a forum for community members interested in arts and culture from across the Gannawarra Shire to come together to share creative ideas.

“We are at the start of developing our new arts and culture strategy and really want it to be guided by our community,” explained Cr. Learmonth.

“Our next Arts Salon is a great way for you to tell us what you want from the arts and culture program over the next 4 years.”

The free event will be held at the Cohuna Community Art Gallery, 25 King Edward St, Cohuna between 6pm - 8pm on Wednesday October 24, 2018.

“Everybody that comes will receive a free ticket to a 2019 performance show and will also have the opportunity to win a lucky door prize,” said Cr. Learmonth.
