Community members have only a couple of weeks left to nominate fellow residents for the 2019 Gannawarra Shire Council Australia Day Awards.

Mayor Lorraine Learmonth said many residents and organisations work tirelessly for their communities.

“We all know someone who makes Gannawarra a great place to live, work and visit,” said Mayor Learmonth.

“These awards are a great opportunity to celebrate their contributions and say thanks.”

Nominations are currently being sought in the following categories:
• Citizen of the Year Award
• Young Citizen of the Year Award (15-24 years on January 16, 2019)

‘‘We need your help to recognise inspiring community members and acknowledge their hard work and dedication,’’ said Mayor Learmonth.

“The awards will be announced and presented on Australia Day at events held throughout the Gannawarra Shire. I look forward to formally showing my appreciation and recognising the efforts of those nominated.”

Entries for the awards will close on Monday December 3, 2018 at 9am.

Nominations can easily be submitted online via Council’s websitewww.gannawarra.vic.gov.au/Council/Australia-Day-Awards

Alternatively hard copy forms are available and can be submitted through Council’s Cohuna and Kerang Customer Service Centres.
