2018 Seniors Festival
Media Release
Gannawarra seniors will be treated to a plethora of events and activities throughout the 2018 Victorian Seniors Festival this October!
Mayor Brian Gibson said there is something for everybody, and most are being offered at either reduced cost or free of charge.
“The main events on the Gannawarra Seniors Festival program are a Spanner Man Bus Tour, Seniors Day Out, Seniors Expo and Library High Tea at Leitchville,” said Mayor Gibson.
“There is also a theatre show called 3 Speed Crunch Box in Cohuna featuring impressive acrobatics, spectacular circus tricks and a whole lot of humour!”
Adding to the Seniors Festival program is an extensive social meals program across the shire at Murrabit, Leitchville, Lake Charm, Kerang, Koondrook, Quambatook, Cohuna and Lalbert.
“As with all the events, the social meals program is another great opportunity for our seniors to move around the shire and connect with people in other communities,” said Mayor Gibson.
“There is also some fabulous community events coinciding with the festival that I would encourage local seniors to attend such as the Kerang Show, Leitchville Primary School’s 140
th
year celebration and the Quambatook Silo Cinema’s screening of the Australian classic comedy
The Castle
.”
“There is even an Older Driver and Gopher Seminar provided by RoadSafe Central Murray in Kerang.”
The Victorian Seniors Festival is in its 36th year with eight days of free public transport for Seniors Card holders available from October 7-14, 2018.
