1. Lake Charm - 22-23 September 2018

Ski Racing Victoria - Point Score 1 event

Notice is hereby given that Lake Charm will be closed to the public between the hours of 6.30 am to 6.00 pm Saturday 22 September 2018 and 6.30 am to 6.00 pm Sunday 23 September 2018.
The purpose of this lake closure is for the Ski Racing Victoria Point Score Race 1 event.

2. Kangaroo Lake - 20-21 October 2018

Ski Racing Victoria - Point Score 2 event

Notice is hereby given that the northern half of Kangaroo Lake - extending from a line of 10 yellow buoys heading east from Scantleton Road to the opposite bank, GPS coordinate: 35° 58.72’ S, 143° 76.28’ E - will be closed to the public between the hours of 6.30 am to 6.00 pm Saturday 20 October 2018 and 6.30 am to 6.00 pm Sunday 21 October 2018.

The purpose of this lake closure is for the Ski Racing Victoria Point Score Race 2 event.

3. Lake Charm - 8-9 December 2018

Ski Racing Victoria - Point Score 3 event

Notice is hereby given that Lake Charm will be closed to the public between the hours of 6.30 am to 6.00 pm Saturday 8 December 2018 and 6.30 am to 6.00 pm Sunday 9 December 2018.
The purpose of this lake closure is for the Ski Racing Victoria Point Score Race 3 event.

4. Lake Charm - 23-24 March 2019

Ski Racing Victoria - Point Score 4 event

Notice is hereby given that Lake Charm will be closed to the public between the hours of 6.30 am to 6.00 pm Saturday 23 March 2019 and 6.30 am to 6.00 pm Sunday 24 March 2019 .
The purpose of this lake closure is for the Ski Racing Victoria Point Score Race 4 event.

5. Lake Charm - 6-7 April 2019

Ski Racing Victoria - Point Score 5 event

Notice is hereby given that Lake Charm will be closed to the public between the hours of 6.30 am to 6.00 pm Saturday 6 April 2019 and 6.30 am to 6.00 pm Sunday 7 April 2019 .
The purpose of this lake closure is for the Ski Racing Victoria Point Score Race 5 event.

6. Declaration of Boating Activity and Notice of Boating Activity Exclusion Zone

Ski Racing Victoria PS2 event at Kangaroo Lake
DECLARATION OF BOATING ACTIVITY EXEMPTION

Gannawarra Shire Council, as the declared waterway manager for the waters of Kangaroo Lake under the Marine Safety Act 2010 (the Act), makes the following declaration under Section 203(3) of the Act. 
For the purposes of the boating activity conducted by Ski Racing Victoria on Kangaroo Lake, vessels and persons participating in the Ski Racing Victoria Point Score 2 event from 6.30 am to 6.00 pm on 20 October 2018 and 21 October 2018 are exempt from:

     State Rules made under the Marine Act 1988:

  1. Clause 2(a) –  5 knots within 50 metres of a person in the water - for rescue vessels;

  2. Clause 2(c) – 5 knots within 50 metres of another vessel – for competitors and rescue vessels;

    Waterway Rules made under the Marine Safety Act 2010:

  3. Clauses 140.9 of Schedule 140 - area prohibited to vessels - provided all vessels maintain a speed that minimises wash when in this area;

    Marine Safety Regulations 2012:

  4. Regulations 96(6), 100(3), 103, 104(1) and 104(2) – requirement to carry and wear a PFD for persons on board a vessel, requirement for persons being towed to wear a PFD, and requirement for master to ensure PFDs are worn.
    These exemptions only apply to competing vessel occupants wearing a Lifeline Comp Vest PN170, and water-skiers wearing a Ski Racing Australia approved buoyant wetsuit; and

  5. Regulation 96(5) – requirement to carry a bucket with lanyard and waterproof buoyant torch – for competitor vessels only.

Subject to the following conditions:

  •  The masters of rescue vessels are only exempt from Clauses 1 and 2 above when undertaking a rescue operation to retrieve persons in distress, provide for their initial medical or other needs and deliver them to a place of safety on shore.
  • Occupants of rescue vessels are to wear a personal floatation device at all times.

  • Masters of competitor vessels are only exempt from Clauses 2, 4 and 5 whilst competing.

  • The exemptions apply from 6.30 am to 6.00 pm on 20-21 October 2018 within the event exclusion zone, provided the stated safety controls and undertakings detailed in the Event Application and associated documentation are adhered to.

NOTICE OF BOATING ACTIVITY EXCLUSION ZONE

In accordance with Section 208(2) of the Marine Safety Act 2010, Gannawarra Shire Council, as the declared waterway manager for Kangaroo Lake, hereby gives notice that all persons and vessels not registered to take part in the Ski Racing Victoria Score 2 event are prohibited from entering or remaining on the waters of the northern half of Kangaroo Lake, extending from a line of 10 yellow buoys heading east from Scantleton Road to the opposite bank, GPS coordinate: 35° 58.72’ S, 143° 76.28’ E.
This zone encompasses the Kangaroo Lake Caravan Park.

The exclusion zone will be in effect from 6.30 am to 6.00 pm on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 October 2018.

Gannawarra Shire Council has determined that this activity exclusion zone is a necessary measure to ensure the proposed activity can occur in the safest possible manner.

Ski Racing Victoria PS1, PS3, PS4 and PS5 events at Lake Charm

DECLARATION OF BOATING ACTIVITY EXEMPTION

Gannawarra Shire Council, as the declared waterway manager for the waters of Lake Charm under the Marine Safety Act 2010 (Act), makes the following declaration under Section 203(3) of the Act.

For the purposes of the boating activity by Ski Racing Victoria on Lake Charm, vessels and persons participating in the Ski Racing Victoria 2018/2019 series of events detailed in Table 1 are exempt from:

In accordance with Section 208(2) of the Marine Safety Act 2010, Gannawarra Shire Council hereby gives notice that all persons and vessels not registered to take part in the Ski Racing Victoria 2018/19 series dates and times listed in Table 1, are prohibited from entering or remaining on the waters of Lake Charm.

Gannawarra Shire Council has determined that this activity exclusion zone is a necessary measure to ensure the proposed activity can occur in the safest possible manner.
