Residents are encouraged to complete a 20–50-minute survey that will help measure the wellbeing of Gannawarra Shire’s communities.

Conducted by the University of Canberra’s Heath Research Institute, the Regional Wellbeing Survey aims to improve the understanding of the wellbeing, liveability and resilience of communities across Australia, and provides organisations with data to help support and grow quality of life.

“Residents across the Gannawarra have supported the Regional Wellbeing Survey since its inception in 2013, with responses providing an insight into the quality of life in different communities,” Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.

“This year’s edition of the survey will assist residents participating in the University of Canberra and University of Southern Queensland-organised Regional Wellbeing Project, which aims to develop a localised wellbeing framework tailored to the Gannawarra’s specific needs.”

Residents who complete the survey before Monday, 22 December will be in the running to share in $12,000 worth of prizes, including gift cards from a range of popular retailers.

The Gardiner Foundation will also donate $5 to local neighbourhood houses for every survey completed by a Gannawarra Shire resident.

“You can choose the length of survey to complete, whether it is the 20-minute short version or the 60-minute version, with the length of survey determining how many entries you receive for the prize draw,” Mr Rollinson said.

“More importantly, your responses will provide a snapshot of the wellbeing of Gannawarra’s residents, especially in topics relating to health, safety, accessibility to services and economic development matters.”
