Enjoy the Gateway to Gannawarra Visitor Centre's open day

Residents and visitors are encouraged to learn about the Gateway to Gannawarra Visitor Centre and its attractions during an open day occurring later this month.
Occurring on Sunday, 23 November from 10am-1pm, the day will enable visitors to learn more about the centre, based at Cohuna’s Garden Park, and its role in providing tourism information for visitors to the area.
“Since its opening in 2011, the Gateway to Gannawarra Visitor Centre has welcomed people from across Australia and from overseas wanting to find out about what the Gannawarra has to offer,” Gannawarra Shire Council Acting Chief Executive Officer, Wade Williams said.
“Council staff who oversee the centre and the various volunteers who assist throughout the week play an important role in promoting our attractions to visitors. Their local knowledge about our lakes, waterways, accommodation providers and businesses is valuable when welcoming people to the site.
“The open day is your chance to visit the centre and explore the site’s recently completed revamp, which included the installation of new displays and addition of a wide variety of locally produced products available to purchase.”
The open day will also feature the launch of the latest edition of The Gannawarra Official Visitor Guide. Developed by Council’s Economic Development and Tourism team, the brochure features information about local attractions, events, accommodation options and businesses.
“The Gannawarra Official Visitor Guide plays an important role in attracting people to the Gannawarra, as well as assisting them to plan their next visit to the area,” Mr Williams said.
“It is also a great resource for residents, as locals will be able to use the guide to show their visiting friends or family new places to explore.”
