Performances will return to Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library this January, with the Gannawarra Library Service hosting a family-friendly show about folk music from around the world.

Featuring CJ and his puppet friends, the Folkie Dokey Live Puppet Show will occur on Monday, 17 January from 10am.

“Featuring a range of animal friends, Folkie Dokey includes folk songs sung around the world,” Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Tom O’Reilly said.

“Children will have fun learning about songs that have helped children learn Spanish, tunes that feature in popular hoe downs and sing along to classics such as ‘The Grand Old Duke of York’, ‘Yellow Bird’ and ‘Home Among the Gumtrees’.”

This free event is ideal for children aged four to seven years of age, with all children needing to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Bookings are essential. To book your spot, please phone (03) 5452 1546.

“Please note that as part of Council’s adherence to the State Government’s Victoria’s Roadmap: Delivering the National Plan, anyone attending this show who is aged 18 years and over will need to have received both COVID-19 vaccinations and provide verification of their vaccination status or have a valid medical exemption,” Mr O’Reilly said.
