Residents are encouraged to head to their local Gannawarra Library Service branch and share morning tea with Victoria Police members as part of Victorian Law Week celebrations this May.

As part of festivities, the library service is holding free Cuppa With a Cop events at Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on Tuesday, 17 May from 10.30am and the Cohuna Library on Wednesday, 18 May from 10.30am.

“Victorian Law Week enables Victorians to understand their rights, find answers to law-related questions, know what help is available and learn how our legal system works,” Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Tom O’Reilly said.

“With most police contact occurring when things go wrong, having the opportunity to chat with a police officer in a relaxed environment is essential in developing ongoing positive relationships between the community and our local police.

“Residents are encouraged to attend one of these two special events, have a cuppa and discuss any matters of concern.”

Bookings are required for catering purposes. To book your spot, please phone (03) 5452 1546.
