COUNCIL PRODUCES AWARD WINNING ANNUAL REPORT
Media Release

Gannawarra Shire Council’s 2015/16 Annual Report has been recognised with a Bronze placing at the Australasian Reporting Awards (ARA).

The ARA is open to all organisations in Australia, New Zealand and countries in the Asia Pacific region who produce an annual report.

Mayor Brian Gibson said Council was pleased to be recognised and will aim for silver in next year’s awards.

“The last time Council was benchmarked through the ARA we also received a Bronze placing, so it is pleasing that our benchmark has remained consistent over the past 6 years,” he said.

“Having said that, we are continually looking to improve, so of course we will aim for Silver next year!”

The ARAs are the premier reporting awards in Australia and New Zealand, and recognise and celebrate the effective communication of financial and business information.

Council’s Director Corporate Services Tom O’Reilly said this award recognises the work and commitment by staff.

“Each year Council produces an Annual Report to review its performance against Council Plan objectives for the past financial year, in the process providing detailed information on how the Council delivered services to the community during the year,” Mr O’Reilly explains.

“Planning is already underway for the 2016/17 Annual Report and we will continue to provide open and accurate reporting of financial information and our performance against our Council Plan objectives,” Mr O’Reilly said.
