Works to improve car parking along Market Street, Cohuna will begin on Monday, 28 September.

Expected to be completed by the end of October 2020, the works will involve installing car parking spaces adjacent to the Cohuna Neighbourhood House.

“The area along Market Street, near the intersection of Channel Street, is a busy part of Cohuna due to its proximity of the Cohuna Neighbourhood House, Cohuna Police Station and the town’s Maternal and Child Health Centre,” Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Tom O’Reilly said.

“These works will create extra accessibility parking spaces for those wanting to access services in this area, making it safer for pedestrians and motorists.”

Road and footpath closures are planned as part of these works, with motorists and pedestrians advised to be mindful of changed arrangements whilst the new car parking spaces are constructed.

“The contractors employed to undertake these works will directly contact residents and businesses whose properties will be directly impacted by these improvements,” Mr O’Reilly said.

“Council thanks motorists and pedestrians for their patience as these works are completed.”
