Council will continue to hold Ordinary Council Meetings during the Coronavirus pandemic, but measures have been put in place to support efforts to stop the spread of Coronavirus and comply with government directions.

The changes, which are effective immediately until further notice, are:

  • Ordinary Council Meetings will be held at the Kerang Senior Citizens Clubrooms, located at 169 Boundary Street, Kerang from 6.30pm;
  • Only time-critical matters will be considered by Council;
  • Meetings will be live-streamed via Council’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/gannawarra);
  • Limited spaces will be available for the public in accordance with Coronavirus social distancing guidelines; and
  • Question Time will not be held.

“Please note that attendance at an Ordinary Council Meeting is not classified by the State and Federal governments as one of the four reasons to be outside your home at this time – shopping for food and essential items; to access medical service or for caregiving purposes; exercise; and to attend work or for education if you cannot do so remotely,” Mayor Lorraine Learmonth said.

“Alternative options are available for residents who want to ask a question to Council. These include phoning Council on (03) 5450 9333 during business hours, speaking to a staff member online at www.gsc.vic.gov.au during business hours; and e-mailing council@gannawarra.vic.gov.au at any time.”
