MEDIA RELEASE

Gannawarra Shire Council has been flushed with success, having two of their recently refurbished public amenities listed as a top four finalist in the Total Facilities Best Bathroom awards.

Mayor Brian Gibson said this national awards program recognises facilities across Australia.

“Having two of Gannawarra’s facilities in Kerang and Cohuna named as a top four finalist in a national awards program is an outstanding result and we are very proud to have been recognised,” he said.

In its third year, the Best Bathroom Facility awards is Australia’s largest facilities awards program and aims to advocate for washroom wellbeing.

“A grotty restroom environment can make or break a company’s reputation,” says Total Facilities’ Event Manager, Andrew Lawson. “Our awards were established to encourage awareness and pride among Australia’s facilities and workplace management professionals. And they set a great precedent.”

The Patchell Plaza public amenities in Kerang and Cohuna Memorial Hall public toilets were named as top four finalists along with Eco Outdoor Richmond Showroom and CoffeeTec showroom in Sydney. The overall winner of the Best Bathroom in Australia was the Brisbane International Airport Terminal.

The Patchell Plaza public amenities has recently being fully renovated to be a functional, bright, fun and welcoming space for the public.

Cohuna Memorial Hall was recently renovated and includes disabled and ambulant facilities and features the latest in amenities and non-slip floors to ensure the safety of patrons.

“Gannawarra will continue to plan and deliver public amenities upgrades across the Shire to ensure that our community and visitors have access to modern, clean and functional spaces,” Mayor Brian Gibson said.
