Gannawarra Shire Council continues to assist families with children about to transition to Prep or Year Seven studies, with the 2022 edition of the School Transition in Gannawarra guide launched earlier today.

Developed in partnership between Council, local schools and organisations offering family services to the Gannawarra community, Mayor Charlie Gillingham joined Koondrook Primary School students and staff to launch the sixth edition of the guide.

“Since its development, the School Transition in Gannawarra guide has become a helpful document for families enrolling their children in Prep or Year Seven,” Mayor Gillingham said.

“As with previous editions, the guide highlights the choice in services available to the Gannawarra community and provides information to assist families to make decisions that support educational outcomes and personal growth and development of their children.”

All children at kindergartens or in Grade Six at primary schools across the Gannawarra will receive a copy of the School Transition in Gannawarra guide.

In addition, copies of the School Transition in Gannawarra guide are available from Council Service Centres, Gannawarra Library Service branches, or online at www.gsc.vic.gov.au

“I encourage all parents with children enrolling in Prep or Year 7 in 2023 to use the booklet to assist with making any decisions regarding your child’s academic journey,” Mayor Gillingham said.

“I congratulate the Council staff involved in the production of this booklet and thank all schools featured for their cooperation.”
