Council Plan 2017-2021

Council is required to prepare and approve a four year Council Plan as a requirement of the Local Government Act 1989.

This Council Plan also includes the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan that identifies goals and strategies based on evidence for creating a local community in which people can achieve maximum health and wellbeing.

A Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan is a requirement of the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008.

At its meeting on 27 June 2018, Council adopted a number of proposed adjustments that have been recommended and incorporated in the Council Plan 2017 - 2021 (2018 Update) following a public exhibition and submission period. These minor adjustments can be seen here(PDF, 109KB)

Community input

During December 2016 and January 2017, Council staff and Councillors went out and listened, spoke and consulted with our community.

We used this booklet(PDF, 5MB) titled 'Let's Start a Conversation' to initiate discussions with our community about their goals and aspirations for the future of Gannawarra Shire
