  • Children under 5 years of age must be accompanied in the water by a parent (or carer) or person over the age of 16, remaining within arms reach.
  • Children aged between 5 and 10 years of age must be clearly and constantly visible and remain directly accessible.
  • All children must be actively supervised at all times.  Unsupervised children (of any age) will be removed from the water if the lifeguard is concerned for their safety.

Benefits of the Kerang Exercise Pool

Injury

Exercise in water allows people recovering from injuries to increase their fitness in a low impact environment. In the water, your body is supported and the resistance provided by moving through water boosts muscle strength and endurance. Water can provide as little or as much resistance as you like. This means exercise can be easily adjusted to suit people with varied strength and mobility.

Disability

According to Arthritis Victoria, warm water exercise is an excellent way for people with arthritis to build strength, ease stiff joints and relax sore muscles. The heat of the water can also relieve pain and warm up muscles and joints so they are able to move easily.

Group Exercise

The Kerang Exercise Pool is available for group exercise sessions such as aqua aerobics and recovery sessions. For booking contact Council on 5450 9333.

Equipment

Noodles, aquatic dumbbells and kick boards are free to use as part of any rehabilitation exercise program or general fitness training.
