There is a well-established and thriving service sector, which caters for a catchment of around 15,000 people. Professional services include banking and finance, legal, accounting, design and drafting, IT and employment agencies.

A capable and professional trades sector includes building, earthmoving, electrical, plumbing, engineering and hardware.

A modern retail sector includes clothing and footwear, health and beauty, furniture and homewares, sporting and recreation, electrical, a range of fresh foods and an array of hotels and specialty dining.

An emerging industry for Gannawarra Shire is large scale renewable energy production. A number of large-scale solar projects have been approved and construction of the first project commenced in mid-2017. The area has the ideal environment and infrastructure to support such projects.

The Gannawarra Shire has fantastic transport and logistic links available to businesses including road, rail and air. We are located within 100km of major rural centres Bendigo, Echuca and Swan Hill with major road links to each of these destinations (Murray Valley Highway, Loddon Valley Highway). The shire is located within 3 hours of Melbourne and 6 hours of Adelaide.
