Footpaths, Kerb and Channel

Council manages 72.5km of footpaths and 146km of kerb and channel throughout all major population centres within the shire.

Footpath Maintanance

Council carries out regular inspections of the entire Footpath network to record area, condition and general risk in accordance with Council's Road Management Plan.

In 2009/10 and 2010/11 Council replaced over 2,500m of footpath and replaced a large number of road crossings to dramatically improve access for prams, gophers and wheelchairs.  The ongoing maintenance and replacement of footpaths throughout the municipality in future years is conducted according to Council's Footpath Asset Management Plan which underwent a review in April 2011.
