Home>Media Release - Council Conducts Condition Survey
| Gannawarra Shire Council is about to commence a condition survey of the sealed and gravel road network within the municipality.
By determining which sections of the road network are most in need of attention, the condition survey data provides the basis for Council’s annual reseal and resheet programs for the next few years. It has been more than three years since the last condition survey of the road network.
“We want to gain an accurate understanding of how our road network performs under various conditions and pavement types,” said Council’s Director of Infrastructure, Environment and Regulatory Services Mr Scott Cavanagh.
The condition survey is the first step in updating Council’s Asset Management Plan and Road Management Plan, which have been in place since December 2004.
The Road Management Plan outlines Council’s guidelines for the inspection, maintenance and repair of its roads. The guidelines are based on policy and operational objectives, but also take into account agreed levels of service and available resources.
During the update of the Road Management Plan, Council will invite input, comments and suggestions from the community.
